Manu Asthana oversees the largest power grid in North America and the largest electricity market in the world.

Asthana has extensive leadership experience across the electricity industry, including power generation operations, optimization and dispatch; competitive retail electricity; electricity and natural gas trading; and risk management, which he acquired across more than 21 years in the industry.

Most recently, he served as president of Direct Energy Home in North America, where he led a team of over 2,600 to combine the company’s retail electricity and home-services businesses, creating a leading energy and home-services provider serving over 3.4 million customers. He previously led power generation operations at Direct Energy, energy trading at both Direct Energy and at the TXU group of companies, as well as generation optimization and dispatch at TXU. In addition, Asthana also served as chief risk officer of TXU Corporation, where he helped senior management and the board quantify and manage risk in TXU’s businesses.

Asthana earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and a Joseph Wharton Scholar. He is active in the community, serving on the board of directors for The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, the Texas Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees and as a board member of the Houston Food Bank and Child Advocates, Inc.

Nigeria Bloczynski has responsibility for identifying and developing approaches to mitigate risk to PJM. Her role is specifically designed to be an independent advisor who reports directly to the Risk and Audit Committee of the PJM Board of Managers.

Bloczynski brings more than 20 years of experience in commodity and credit risk management in both the financial and energy markets. Some of her specialties include finance, mathematics and modeling, development of risk policies, new business/strategic risk assessment, credit risk, implementation of risk management frameworks, development of risk appetite, key risk indicators, financial securities, market risk, trading portfolio assessment, AML, KYC, fraud assessment and other operational risks.

She previously served as a board member of the Committee of Chief Risk Officers, the national nonprofit organization leading thinking and implementation of best practices in risk management across the industry, and is a member of the 2020 Energy Risk USA advisory board.

Most recently, Bloczynski was the director of commodity and corporate risk management for WGL Holdings, a subsidiary of AltaGas, Ltd. She holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Morgan State University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Frederick S. “Stu” Bresler is responsible for all aspects of PJM’s market functions. His responsibilities cover all of the markets operated by PJM, including those for capacity, Day-Ahead and Real-Time Energy, ancillary services, Financial Transmission Rights and demand response operations. Bresler is responsible for the continued evolution of PJM’s markets, including the integration of renewable resources and the development of analytics around the performance of those markets. An employee of PJM since 1994, Bresler previously held other leadership and management positions within the Markets Division, as well as engineering positions in the Operations Division.

Bresler earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and a Master of Management in business administration from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Pennsylvania.

Bresler is chair of the board of PJM Connext, Inc., a PJM subsidiary. He is also chair of the board of APEx (the Association of Power Exchanges), an international organization of electricity and gas market operators, and a member of the board of directors of the North American Energy Standards Board and Habitat for Humanity of Chester County.

 

Michael Bryson

Michael Bryson is responsible for PJM's Operations Division, including 24/7 transmission operations for real-time systems, which consist of scheduling, transmission dispatch and generation dispatch, reliability coordination and training, as well as the engineering analysis required to run the system and support the critical energy management systems.

Bryson is a member of the Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions and the ISO/RTO Operating Committee. He serves on the board of PJM Technologies, Inc. and PJM Repository Information Services, Inc. He also is currently serving on the board of Women’s Outreach in Phoenixville, PA. Bryson was formerly on the board of directors of the ReliabilityFirst Corporation and the former chair of the board of Pope John Paul II High School.

Bryson has nearly 10 years of military experience as a pilot. His responsibilities in the United States Army included operations planning and support, supervision and training of pilots and mechanics, and training and maintenance of tactical computer systems. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Combat Service in Desert Storm.

Bryson earned a Bachelor of Science in general engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, focusing on computer science and electrical engineering, and has a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Bryson also earned a graduate certificate in power engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

 

Lisa M. Drauschak

Lisa M. Drauschak is responsible for PJM’s budget and analysis, controllership, financial reporting, payroll, tax records, market settlements, procurement and treasury functions. She oversees the formulation of long-range financial strategies and business plans to achieve PJM’s business goals.

Drauschak has two decades of experience in financial management. Since joining PJM in 1999, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including tax strategies, streamlining and managing costs, and led the successful completion of PJM’s SOC 1 audit with no reportable exceptions. She interacts with the Competitive Markets Committee, Risk and Audit Committee, and Finance Committee of the PJM Board of Managers as well as various stakeholder groups at PJM.

Prior to joining PJM, Drauschak worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Advanta Financial Services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in accountancy from Villanova University.

 

Craig Glazer

Craig Glazer coordinates all of PJM's regulatory and legislative policies before Congress, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the United States Department of Energy and other federal agencies. He also serves on the board of PJM Settlement, Inc., which undertakes all of the settlement functions of the PJM marketplace and serves as PJM’s representative to the International Energy Agency and the Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative.

Prior to coming to PJM, Glazer served as commissioner and chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio throughout the 1990s. During this period, Glazer served in a leadership role to facilitate Ohio’s move toward restructuring the state’s telephone, natural gas, transportation and electric industries. He also chaired the state's siting board and served as a member of the governor's cabinet. Glazer also served on the board of trustees of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and chaired its International Relations Committee.

Glazer frequently interacts with Congress, presidential administrations, the Department of Energy and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on electricity and natural gas issues, including wholesale market development, reliability and environmental issues affecting the electric industry.

He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Vanderbilt University School of Law.

 

Asim Z. Haque

Asim Z. Haque oversees State Government Policy, State Policy Solutions and Member Services, which includes Stakeholder Affairs, Client Management, Knowledge Management and State & Member Training. He leads PJM’s policy development and interaction with state government, which includes state commissions, governor’s offices, state legislatures and state security agencies. Haque also oversees PJM’s member interactions, which includes the PJM stakeholder process.

Prior to joining PJM, Haque was the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). As the state’s chief regulator, he guided Ohio through some of the most relevant energy policy issues facing the nation, including Clean Power Plan compliance, cases related to the future of baseload power plants in competitive markets and distribution grid modernization.

Haque, an attorney, began his career at a large general practice firm and went on to work as in-house counsel at a global auto manufacturer prior to his appointment to the PUCO.

Haque holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and political science from Case Western Reserve University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University.

 

Adam Keech

Adam Keech oversees the conduct of all of the wholesale markets operated by PJM, including those for capacity, Day-Ahead and Real-Time Energy, ancillary services and Financial Transmission Rights. He is also responsible for PJM’s market efficiency transmission upgrade process, market surveillance initiative, and the applied innovation area that focuses on evaluating, leveraging and supporting the implementation of advanced solutions in the planning, markets and operations areas. Keech has worked for PJM since 2003 in both market and system operations roles.

Keech earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University and earned a master’s degree in applied statistics from West Chester University.

Thomas F. O’Brien is responsible for all activities related to PJM’s Information Technology Services Division and its enterprise information security. He is also the executive sponsor of the PJM Diversity & Inclusion Council. Additionally, O’Brien sits on the board of PJM Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of PJM, and on the Eastern Interconnect Data Sharing Network Board of Directors.

O’Brien is an energy professional with more than 30 years of broad experience in all aspects of the electricity industry. Previously, O’Brien was employed by GPU Energy and First Energy Solutions, leading and participating in deregulation, energy trading and system operations activities.

O’Brien earned his Bachelor of Arts in mathematics with a concentration in computer science from Shippensburg University and a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle University. He completed a certificate program in advanced computer security through the Stanford Center for Professional Development.

 

Christopher O’Hara

Christopher O’Hara is responsible for PJM’s legal operations, including all of the company’s regulatory, litigation and commercial needs. He provides legal counsel and strategic advice to PJM’s senior management team and assists in the creation of legal and regulatory strategies, as well as the execution of the regional transmission organization’s objectives.

Before joining PJM in 2017, O’Hara had extensive in-house and private law firm experience in the energy field. He has represented a diverse spectrum of energy sector clients, including municipalities, cooperatives, industrials and other market participants, in all aspects of their businesses.

O’Hara has served on the board of the North American Energy Standards Board and is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Texas.

O’Hara received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland. He is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

 

Ricardo Rodriguez

Ricardo Rodriguez is responsible for managing PJM’s Internal Audit Department, which reports to the CEO and to the Audit Committee of the PJM Board of Managers. He is responsible for conducting companywide business risk analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of business processes and operating controls at PJM.

Rodriguez is an experienced audit professional with over 20 years of experience in the energy, pharmaceutical and financial industries in the areas of finance, regulatory compliance, information security, operations and information systems.

Rodriguez previously worked for NRG Energy, GlaxoSmithKline, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, ING Financials, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Science in engineering from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Kenneth S. Seiler

Kenneth S. Seiler leads PJM’s System Planning Division. Seiler is responsible for all activities related to resource adequacy planning, generation interconnection planning, interregional planning and transmission planning, including the development of the Regional Transmission Expansion Plan.

While at PJM, he has served in various management roles in system operations and information technology, in addition to system planning.

Seiler is on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Education Fund, which is the largest and most comprehensive provider of college access and career success programming in the city – offering services and resources targeting students, teachers, schools and the larger Philadelphia community. He is also on the board of PJM Environmental Information Services, Inc.

Prior to joining PJM, Seiler worked for Metropolitan Edison Company/General Public Utilities for nearly 14 years in various operations and engineering roles. Seiler earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College.

 

Nora Swimm

Nora Swimm has responsibility for all corporate business support services. In her role, Swimm oversees business planning, campus/facilities oversight and enhancements, client services, corporate communications and human resources. She also oversees social responsibility for the organization.

Having joined PJM in May 2001, Swimm was responsible for PJM's information services activities, including the creation of information architecture and infrastructure, as well as the development of new internet-based applications as PJM markets expanded.

Swimm is on the board of the American Association of People with Disabilities and Philabundance, the largest hunger relief organization in the Philadelphia region.

Prior to joining PJM, she held management positions in information technology at General Electric Aerospace, where she supported the Manufacturing and Finance divisions for spacecraft operations.

Swimm earned her Bachelor of Science in computer science from Villanova University with minors in business administration and mathematics and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Villanova University. She was also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.
